SUBJECT: SECOND READING OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.04.160 “COUNCIL RIGHT OF REVIEW” TO REQUIRE COUNCIL REQUESTS TO BE FILED WITHIN 10 BUSINESS DAYS UPON FINAL ACTION BY A BOARD, COMMISSION OR COMMITTEE
BACKGROUND
Ordinance 91-3, adopted by City Council in March 1991, requires a review by members
of Council of a decision or action of a City board, commission or committee be filed with the City Clerk within five working days. The City’s current public appeal process allows for a filing period of 10 business days.
Amendment of Municipal Code section 2.04.160 would make all filing periods within the
City consistent with one another.
City Council considered and approved this Ordinance to amend Chapter 2.04.160 at its
meeting of October 7, 2008, and it is now returning for its second reading.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the Ordinance.
