Presentation will be limited to three minutes, or as established by the Community Activities & Cultural Commission.

I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Commission Members Klaumann, Jett, Dixon, Rachel, Kohns
ABSENT:
STAFF PRESENT: Heidi Burch, Assistant City Administrator
Cindi Lopez-Frincke, Community Services Assistant
Sarah Gunter, Community Services Assistant

II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Members of the audience joined Commission Members in the pledge of allegiance.

III. APPEARANCES

None.

IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Commissioner DIXON moved ratification of the minutes as amended from the January 11 2011 meeting seconded by Commissioner RACHEL and carried by the following roll call vote:

AYES: KLAUMANN, JETT, DIXON, RACHEL, KOHRS
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: NONE
ABSTAIN: NONE

V. ORDERS OF BUSINESS

A. Consideration of 2011 Carmel Bach Festival at Devendorf Park: Doug Mueller

Doug Mueller presented the Commission his proposal and layout for the opening night of the 2011 Carmel Bach Festival at Devendorf Park to coincide with the live event at Sunset Center on July 16, 2011. Mr. Mueller stated that he is waiting to receive financial grants and will notify Cindi Lopez-Frincke, Community Services Assistant, of when the grant money is received. Upon notification that the grant is received the matter will be presented to the City Council.

After discussion the Commission unanimously agreed to recommend this event go forward to the City Council.

B. Further Review of Special Event Permit

This item was continued to Tuesday, March 8, 2011 Commission meeting.

C. Review and Discuss Volunteer List

This item was continued to Tuesday, March 8, 2011 Commission meeting.

D. Discuss 2011 Goals & Objectives

After further discussion, a Motion was made by Commissioner DIXON and seconded by Commissioner RACHEL to resubmit the 2010/2011 Goals and Objectives to the City Council for the 2011/2012 budget.

The Commission unanimously agreed to recommend this event proceed to the City Council.

VI. ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE CHAIR AND/OR COMMISSIONERS

Commissioner JETT detailed the history and accomplishments of the Carmel Woman’s Club.

VII. ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE ASSISTANT CITY ADMINISTRATOR-RECEIVE AND DISCUSS REPORTS, PROVIDE DIRECTION AS NECESSARY.
