Name: Consideration of a Resolution accepting donations totaling $9,285 for the City's beach Webcam and the digitization of the Devendorf historic papers.
Description: Two local residents, who have requested to remain anonymous, have donated funds to the City totaling $9,285. Of this amount, $4,285 is designated to go toward the purchase of a beach Webcam and $5,000 is earmarked to help in the effort to digitize the historic Devendorf papers in the City's Local History
Department. Digitizing the papers will help make these documents, many of which are fragile, more accessible for public viewing and study.
Overall Cost: City Funds: N/A
GrantFunds:$9,285
Staff Recommendation: Approve the Resolution to accept the donations totaling $9,285 from these two generous individuals.
Important Considerations: City Policy C89-41, Acceptance of Donations and Gifts to the City, requires that City Council approve donations larger than $1,000. The donation of$4,285 will be deposited into Account 01-01-46801 (Administration Gift List) and $5,000 will be deposited into Account 50-24050-0776 (Local
History Department Donations).
